For her sons, Rosa marches towards a better future

For Maria Rosa, joining the military was more than choosing a career. It was a step towards building a better future for her two sons.
The 22-year-old from Lokia, Rewa, was among 145 Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) recruits who took part in the passing-out parade at the RFMF Forces Training Group (FTG) in Nasinu on Friday.
For Private Rosa, reaching the parade ground came after three months away from her children and a demanding training journey.

While she underwent training, her parents stepped in to care for her two sons, providing the family support she needed to pursue her goal.
The experience, she said, broadened her understanding and gave her valuable knowledge and life experience.
Private Rosa thanked God for helping her reach the milestone.
Her journey reflects the perseverance of a young mother who chose to embrace a new challenge and work towards a better life for her children.
Now, as one of the RFMF’s newest recruits, Private Rosa begins a new chapter — one shaped by determination, faith, family support and the future she hopes to provide for her two sons.
