The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) is helping local digital entrepreneurs, freelancers, and tech-enabled businesses navigate the world of taxation and customs with specialised training sessions.
Led by the FRCS Education and MSME teams, the interactive workshops provided participants with practical knowledge on essential topics such as basic tax concepts, tax registration, financial literacy, customs processes, and record keeping.
Attendees also learned how to interpret financial statements, enabling them to make informed business decisions.

FRCS senior manager education, Vilimone Nailotei, praised the engagement of participants, highlighting the fast-growing nature of Fiji’s digital economy.
“Fiji’s digital sector continues to evolve rapidly and with that evolution comes changing tax responsibilities,” he said in a FRCS statement.
He stressed that compliance is more than just a legal obligation. “
Understanding your tax obligations is essential for sustainable growth and long-term success,” said Mr Nailotei.
“Ask questions, participate actively, and take away practical insights you can start using immediately.”
The sessions aimed to demystify tax and customs compliance, giving digital entrepreneurs the confidence to manage their finances effectively while positioning their businesses for growth.
