The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a heavy rain alert for the whole Fiji group.
In an update issued at 3pm today, the weather office said continuous rainfall over several hours has saturated the ground, increasing the risk of rapidly rising water levels in creeks, streams, waterways and roadside drains.
The public has been urged to stay away from flooded areas and avoid crossing or swimming in floodwaters.
