Minister Vows to Address Water Woes

Minister for Public Works Ro Filipe Tuisawau has outlined Government's plans to tackle the long-standing water issues affecting the Suva to Nausori corridor.
This is particularly in areas such as Tamavua, Khalsa, Sakoca, and Lami.
In announcing his ministry's strategy, Ro Filipe urged the public to be patient and supportive as critical infrastructure projects are put into place.

"The Suva, Lami, Tacirua, etc. water situation seems chaotic and ad hoc, but let me assure you that we are making progress towards solutions," Ro Filipe said.
"I am determined that these will be achieved before my four-year term as the responsible minister ends in December 2026.
"We recognise that service disruptions cause significant inconvenience to residents and businesses, and we are taking urgent and decisive actions to improve the reliability and sustainability of the water supply system.
"The steps outlined represent a major commitment towards ensuring that the people of Fiji have access to safe, clean, and reliable water now and into the future.
"I am confident that with the above measures over the next 18 months or so and definitely by the end of the four Year Term of the Coalition Government, the major water issues of Suva, Nausari, Tamavua, Khalsa, Sakoca, and Lami will be just memories of the past."
