Parents and guardians are urged to protect their children during the holidays.
Chief operations, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu made the comment in view of many social, religious and sporting gatherings during the two weeks school break.
He said police visitations to schools, school camp sites, school sporting venues were intensified a few days before the school holidays.

It was imperative that the same safety messages were being reinforced at home, he said.
“After the secondary school rugby semi-finals last week, police had to ask students to return home as they were found in groups gathering in Suva,” ACP Driu said.
