Fiji Court of Appeal Justice Alipate Qetaki.

Former iTaukei Land Trust Board general manager Alipate Qetaki was sworn in as a Fiji Court of Appeal Justice yesterday.

Justice Qetaki was a former Attorney-General in 1987 and Minister for Justice during the Qarase Government.

He worked for TLTB for 15 years and was a civil servant for more than 30 years.

A lawyer by profession with over 45 years’ of experience, Justice Qetaki most recently taught at the University of Fiji Justice Davendra Pathik School of Law, Suva Campus from 2020 to January, 2023.

President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere officiated at the swearing-in ceremony for Justice Qetaki and Justice William Calanchini who was sworn in as a Judge of the Supreme Court.

Prior to Justice Calanchini’s appointment he was the President of the Court of Appeal from August 1, 2013 to December 31, 2019.
