The investigation file into the death of Richard Mock remains under review by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
This was confirmed by Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu during a press conference on Thursday, where he addressed public frustration over delays in the high‑profile case.
Mr Mock’s body was discovered at a vacant lot in Nasau, Nadi, in January 2025. Police officers were the last people seen with him before his death.

The case sparked public outcry after Mr Mock’s mother, Seraphine Mock, claimed her son had visible injuries suggesting foul play.
“Richard Mock’s file is still with the ODPP. People ask me about it almost every other day,” Mr Tudravu said.
“People are saying that because police officers are involved, we are dragging this case.”
Mr Tudravu clarified that police completed their investigation months ago and submitted the file to the ODPP.
“The investigation has been completed. It is already with the ODPP,” he said.
The Police Commissioner stressed the independence of the prosecution office, pushing back against calls for him to intervene.
“I’m not going to the ODPP. The ODPP is an independent body. People need to understand that,” Mr Tudravu said.
“They have their own processes in place. They are the ones who decide whether to prosecute and take matters to court, not the police.”
Mr Tudravu maintained that the police had fulfilled their role by conducting a thorough investigation.
“My job is to complete the investigation, gather the evidence, and pass it on to them,” he said.
