Special and inclusive students choir to make Festival of Praise history

About 126 students and teachers from special and inclusive schools across Fiji will make history with their first participation in the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma’s Festival of Praise that starts today.
The students have been practising separately at their respective schools and coordinating through a Viber group before coming together as one group for the performance.
Minister for Education Aseri Masivou Radrodro said their participation marked a significant milestone for special and inclusive education in Fiji.

He said it would give the students an opportunity to showcase their talents, build confidence and participate meaningfully in the wider community.
Mr Radrodro said their participation demonstrated what students could achieve and contribute when given the right opportunities and support.
“I hope that the performance would be the beginning of the Fiji Council of Special and Inclusive Educators Choir and create more opportunities for students to participate in singing, drama, dance, poetry and other creative activities," said Hon. Radrodro
He acknowledged the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma for creating the opportunity for the students.
Mr Radrodro also acknowledged the Fiji Council of Special and Inclusive Educators, Fiji Disabled Persons Federation, parents, teachers, school leaders and other organisations supporting their participation.
He commended the students and teachers for their commitment in preparing for the event.
Mr Radrodro wished the students well and encouraged them to enjoy the experience and take pride in representing their schools and the special and inclusive education community.
