Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) staged a dramatic last-minute comeback to beat Marist Brothers High School 17-15 and claim the Vodafone Super Deans Under-15 title.

Trailing 12-15 in the dying stages of the final, RKS needed something special — and captain Josaia Sovau delivered.

With RKS playing under penalty advantage, Sovau powered over for the match-winning try to snatch the title from Marist.

It completed a tense contest in which RKS had led 9-7 at halftime before Marist fought back and moved ahead in the second half.

But RKS refused to surrender, with their late pressure eventually creating the opportunity for Sovau to seal the championship.

The victory earned RKS the Under-15 Deans crown and $3000 in prize money.
