Supermarket Employees Harass Mother Over Parking Space

Luisa Ravatu has expressed frustration about her alleged harassment in front of a Suva supermarket on Tuesday afternoon.
On Facebook, the mother of five described how she was taunted and belittled by two Fresh Choice Supermarket employees following an alleged argument over a parking space.

“I went to the supermarket at Garden City around 4pm and there were limited parking spots. When it’s raining or the parking lots are full, the security staff directs us to park on the footpath,” Ms Ravatu said.
“That day, the only available space was where taxis park. So, I decided to park on the footpath because another vehicle was already parked there.
“After finishing my shopping 15 minutes later, I returned to my car and discovered it was blocked from the front and back. I asked around, and the second person I approached turned out to be a Fresh Choice employee.
“The situation escalated when I confronted him and he refused to move. We called the Police, but they never arrived. He even threatened to call his own Police officer.”
Ms Ravatu said she had never felt so belittled in her life.
“They taunted and harassed me. I became incredibly frustrated and burst into tears as I pleaded with them, explaining that I needed to get home to make dinner for my children,” she said .
