$2B meth bust: David Heritage cops 55 years sentence, parole possible in 2048

The Lautoka High Court has sentenced David Heritage to 55 years in prison, with a non-parole period of 25 years.
Heritage was found guilty of unlawful importation and possession of illicit drugs in connection with Fiji’s largest methamphetamine bust.
Prosecutors described Heritage as a key figure in the operation.

During the trial, Heritage claimed he had been forced into the operation, alleging that a Russian national, introduced to him by Ho, had threatened him and his family at gunpoint.
With a 25-year non-parole period, Heritage will first be eligible for parole in 2048.
Sentencing breakdown are as follows:
Justin Ho: Life Imprisonment, non-parole period of 30 years.
David Heritage: 55 years imprisonment, non-parole period of 25 years.
Jale Aukerea: 50 years imprisonment, non-parole period of 25 years.
Louie Logaivau: 25 years imprisonment, non-parole period of 18 years.
Sakiusa Tuva: 25 years imprisonment, non-parole period of 18 years.
Aporosa Davelevu: 14 years imprisonment, non-parole period of 12 years.
Osea Levula: 17 years imprisonment, non-parole period of 13 years.
Cathy Tuirabe: 15 years imprisonment, non-parole of 12 years.
Viliame Colowaliku: 15 years imprisonment, non-parole period of 12 years.
