People’s Alliance banks on grassroots development ahead of election
Bua leaders say voters will judge the Government on its delivery of infrastructure projects.

Increasing voter confidence in the People’s Alliance (PA) party through grassroots development initiatives will be vital in the build-up to the coming General Election, says Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica.
Mr Kamikamica made the comments following his visit to Bua Lomanikoro village in Vanua Levu last week. He reaffired his loyalty to the party and said his support for the vision of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka would continue.
“We are focused on fighting the election together,” he said.

Mr Kamikamica said the Coalition Government had achieved a significant amount of infrastructure development during its term.
He said his focus would now be on performing well in his reinstated ministerial portfolios.
Bua acknowledges development
Tui Bua Ratu Makutu Nagagavoka acknowledged the Coalition Government’s work in spearheading infrastructure development in the province.
Ratu Makutu said his people would decide which party to vote for, but Government had a “soft spot” among people in Bua.
Sau Ni Vanua of Qoibau and traditional leader in Labasa, Ratu Manoa Tuiwainikai, said people in each village would vote for a Government based on its infrastructure progress.
“If years of waiting for a road repair or other infrastructure needs were ignored in a particular village, voting will be influenced,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Kamikamica said he was flattered by Mr Rabuka’s description of him as a “political heir” for future prime ministerial leadership.
He said he valued Mr Rabuka’s views and respected his guidance on his political future.
