Boxers arrive in Belfast for training

Team Fiji amateur boxers to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, are now on a two-week training camp in Belfast, Ireland.
Speaking to SUNsports head coach Cam Todd said they had 29 hours of travel and settled in yesterday.
“It was good challenge for the team,” he said.

“We have a two-week training camp here with 18 other countries.
“It will be very intense and a great build-up for the young athletes.
“I’m looking forward to see how they get through the training camp and sharpen up for the Commonwealth Games.”
The boxers include captain Jone Davule, Aminiasi Saratibau, Ben Maukakala, Elijiah Qiokata and lone female Jasmine Daunakamakama.
“I’m looking forward to having some good performances at the Games.
“It’s the biggest tournament for all of them with the exception of Davule which would be his third Games.
“I’m excited to see what these young athletes would do.”
The Glasgow Games will be from July 23 to August 2.
