SVC new swimming boys’ champion, Drasa Avenue retains girls’ title

Nadi’s Swami Vivekananda College (SVC) has been crowned the new boys’ champion at the National Schools Age Group Championship.

SVC dominated the competition, winning 22 gold, 22 silver and 13 bronze medals to dethrone defending champions Marist Brothers High School.

MBHS finished second with 15 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze medals, while Veiuto Primary School placed third with 10 gold medals.

In the girls’ division, Drasa Avenue School (DAS) of Lautoka successfully defended its title, collecting 21 gold, six silver and 12 bronze medals.

SVC finished as runners-up with 15 gold, 13 silver and 21 bronze medals, while Saint Joseph’s Secondary School placed third with 10 gold, 10 silver and seven bronze medals.

The two-day championship was held at the National Aquatic Centre.
