Lomani is unreal, says coach

Frank Lomani is everything about the Drua.

This was the comment of head coach Glen Jackson following the captain’s outstanding performance in their 25-20 win over the Hurricanes in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash at Churchill Park, Lautoka, on Saturday.

Lomani was later named the Fijian Drua’s Man of the Match in their first win of the season.

“I think we were unbelievably well led,” Jackson said.

“So not often, I’d sit here and talk about the guy (Lomani) next to me, but I think Frank Lomani epitomized what it’s like to be the Drua.

“Going from nine (halfback), where he was unreal, and then to finish on the wing, and to create turnovers is exactly why Frank is everything about the Drua.

“I think you can’t underestimate his performance today (Saturday) and how we got the victory.”

Lomani said they knew the Hurricanes was going to be tough as they’re stacked with All Blacks players.

“We knew that it was going to be a lot of scuffles.

“We had made sure that we’ve spoken about execution the whole week. I think the boys stood out because we had a plan. We came, we executed and that’s how we got the win.”
