Preparations on track for Ra

Preparations for the Vodafone Vanua Cup competition is on track for the Ra team ahead of Saturday’s kick-off.

Captain Waisea Lawebuka said following the elimination rounds, they are strengthening their squad.

“We had a short break after eliminations but training has been good these past weeks,” Lawebuka said.

“We have no excuses to delay preparations as games begin this week.

“We’ve maintained the core of our squad which includes boys selected from the club games.”

Lawebuka said after missing out on the chance to qualify for Skipper Cup, it would motivate the team to fight for a spot in next year’s competition.

“There are many young players who are under 25-years-old.

“We do not have much support right now – I told the boys that’s not an excuse. We just need to do our job to gain our people’s support.”
