“Every day I reminded myself why I was here. My parents worked hard to support me, and I didn’t want to let them down,” he said.
Studying in Nadave meant being far from his family and village, but Mr Ceva relied on his resilience and the support of friends to push through difficult moments.
“There were times I wanted to give up, but I kept telling myself that I needed to push through for my family and for my future,” he said.
Plumbing and sheet metal are demanding trades, yet Mr Ceva embraced the challenge. Each lesson he learned brought him closer to his dream of helping his community and creating opportunities for others back home in Bua.
“I chose this trade because I know it will give me skills that my community needs. My goal is to gain more experience and one day start my own plumbing business,” he said.
For Jovilisi, graduation is not the end—it is the beginning of a journey where skill, perseverance, and dedication will shape a brighter tomorrow for himself, his family, and his village.
“I am ready to take what I have learned and build a future that my family and my village can be proud of.”
