Man found dead at Lautoka Post Office

Concerns over the growing number of street dwellers using the Lautoka Post Office premises have intensified following the discovery of a man’s body at the site yesterday.

The deceased was known to frequently stay around the post office and was last seen sleeping there last Saturday.

Postmaster Nilesh Prakash said staff were increasingly dealing with street dwellers sleeping at the premises and leaving the area dirty.

“This has been a concern because every day our staff clean the place because they misuse the place,” Mr Prakash said.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said a post-mortem examination would be conducted to determine the cause of death.
