Miss Lion of Judah Security contestant Rosiseduadua Rejieli Tubakibau is using the Miss Bula Festival platform to promote better mental health support in the workplace.

The 22-year-old Flight Data Officer from Vatoa, Ono-i-Lau, is among 10 contestants competing for the Miss Bula Festival 2026 crown.

Ms Tubakibau is working towards obtaining her Flight Information Service licence and says her career has reinforced the importance of guidance, support and responsibility.

She said every employee deserves understanding and a safe environment to speak, grow and thrive.

"No aircraft leaves the ground without someone trained to guide it," Ms Tubakibau said.

"Our youth deserve the same direction, not just permission to dream."

She believes the Miss Bula pageant is much more than a beauty competition.

"It is a platform for young women to serve as cultural ambassadors for Nadi, champion community causes, and carry the pride of our town throughout the year," she said.

Contestants have been taking part in community outreach and advocacy programmes ahead of the crowning night.

The Nadi Bula Festival has supported charitable and community causes for more than 60 years, with organisers saying this year's event will continue that tradition.

As part of the festival programme, contestants have also visited businesses in Nadi, including Fiji Airways, Naisoso Island Resort Villas and Jack's of Fiji outlets.

The week-long Nadi Bula Festival begins today at King Charles Park and Koroivolu Park.
