Komo maintain momentum with hard-fought win over Nadi

Komo recorded a four-wicket win over Nadi at the Cricket Fiji Super 8 Championship at Albert Park, Suva, yesterday.

The win saw Komo avenged their earlier loss to Nadi during the Easter Championship.

Komo scored 118 runs in 25.4 overs while Nadi registered 117 runs in 29.5 overs.

Komo captain Waisea Rabuli told SUNsports yesterday, that he was pleased with his team’s performance.

“I thank the Lord Almighty for the win today and I salute the boys for giving their best. We managed to come out with our second win,” Rabuli said.

“For the Nadi team, thank you for giving us a hard-fought game.”

Rabuli said there are areas of their team they need to improve on, particularly in the field.

“We made a couple of mistakes during the game against Nadi, especially in our fielding. We made some mistakes under pressure, but I thank the boys for managing to get our second win,” he said.

“It was really a tough game and Nadi was also a quality side. We had faced them during the Easter competition where they defeated us,” Rabuli said.

“We used that loss as fuel to encourage the boys to come out stronger. We managed to avenge that loss today.”

Komo plays their third match against Ono-i-Lau today.

Rabuli urged Komo supporters in Suva to turn up in big numbers.

“I invite all our supporters and the people of Komo here in Suva, to come out in numbers to support the team,” he added.
