Fiji heavyweight champion Semi Dauloloma has pulled out of his title defence against challenger James Singh on September 19 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
This was confirmed to SUNsports yesterday by Kings Boxing Promotions promoter Nahroon Buksh.
“It is unfortunate that Semi is nursing a boil on his knee and has withdrawn,” he said.
Dauloloma also posted a video on social media apologising to fans on why he had pulled out as the boil (which is on his knee cap) is affecting his training.
Buksh said they had agreed on the purse with Dauloloma’s management team but cannot do much since he has withdrawn because of the boil.
“Now I’ll start negotiating with heavyweight boxer Sainivalati Ratu’s team on a possible return fight with James Singh.
“Ratu had won their first fight on points, which was strongly disputed by James Singh’s team.”
Buksh said the main bout is also a return fight between Junior Binnu Singh and Krishnil Mudaliar.
“In their first fight, it was very close with Binnu winning on split points decision.
“It’ll be interesting to see the outcome of this return fight.
“Also, if the Ratu and James Singh return fight eventuates, it’s going to be two big fights under one roof.”
Buksh said he’s still looking for an opponent for Mika Ravalaca and will confirm as soon as he gets one.
