The 2026 Fiji Performing Rights Association Music Awards has been postponed due to current economic pressures, organisers have confirmed.

The awards ceremony, originally scheduled for May 23, will now be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

In a statement, the Fiji Performing Rights Association Board of Directors said the decision was made in direct response to the current economic climate.

Despite the postponement, the board said it remained committed to delivering a prestigious event celebrating Fiji’s music industry.

“Extending our timeline allows us to navigate the present economic pressures without compromising the integrity of the awards,” the board stated.

“Our priority is to host a high-quality event that provides our artists with the platform and recognition they deserve.”

FIPRA also thanked members, partners and the public for their continued support and patience.

Further details on ticket sales and the finalist shortlist are expected to be released in the coming months.
