Five contestants will compete for the 2026 Miss Vodafone GoldnWater Carnival crown after the week-long event was officially launched at Garvey Park in Tavua last Saturday.
At the launch, sponsor Vodafone Fiji Limited said the carnival had evolved beyond a traditional beauty pageant into a platform that builds confidence, resilience and leadership among young women.
Vodafone Fiji head of retail Nilesh Singh said this year's theme, "Celebrating Unity. Embracing Diversity. Building a Resilient Fiji," reflected the importance of strengthening social cohesion across communities.

"Our diversity is not just our difference; it is our greatest asset. United in our diversity, we build a strong foundation, and this carnival celebrates the resilient Fijian spirit," Mr Singh said.
He said contestants represented more than pageant participants and were emerging leaders who could make meaningful contributions to their communities.
"The carnival is no longer just about competition. It is about shaping young women into leaders who can contribute meaningfully to their communities," he said.
Drawing a parallel with Tavua's gold-mining history, Mr Singh said the contestants embodied the qualities associated with gold.
"Tavua is historically known for its precious findings of gold. For generations, gold has symbolised immense value. It represents purity, resilience and brilliance under pressure.
"When we look at our contestants this year, we see those exact qualities. Just like gold, these women have stepped out of their comfort zones, choosing to lead with heart and purpose."
He said the carnival experience equipped participants with lifelong skills.
The contestants are Miss Rolling Moments Fiji Leba Raileqe, Miss Dayals Quarries Pte Ltd Anna Valaibulu, Miss Vatukoula Gold Mining Co. Ltd Ro Ateca Vuidreketi, Miss Vision Marketing Pte Limited Sinamoni Boitalei, and Miss Tavualevu Udite Rokosuka.
