Queen Contestant Udite Rokosuka believes true beauty is not defined by appearance, but by the positive difference a person makes in the lives of others.

Sponsored by the village of Tavualevu, Ms Rokosuka is one of five contestants vying for the Miss Vodafone GoldnWater Carnival crown at Garvey Park in Tavua from July 4 to 11.

She hopes to use the platform to promote unity, compassion and service across Fiji.

“I want to remind people that our greatest strength is not found in our differences, but in the way we come together with respect, kindness and understanding,” Ms Rokosuka said.

Her campaign theme, “A Voice for Unity, Compassion and a Resilient Fiji”, reflects the values she aims to promote throughout the carnival.

Ms Rokosuka said she sees leadership as service rather than recognition.

“For me, true leadership is not about being seen; it is about serving others, uplifting communities and inspiring hope,” she said.

She said Fiji’s diversity should be embraced as a national strength, encouraging people from all backgrounds to support one another and build stronger communities.

“When we choose understanding over division and kindness over judgement, we create communities where everyone feels valued and respected,” she said.

Passionate about youth development, Ms Rokosuka encouraged young people to believe in their potential regardless of their background.

“Every young person has potential. No matter where you come from, your determination, character and willingness to help others can take you far in life,” she said.

As carnival week approaches, she said she hopes one message stands out above all others.

“True beauty is found in humility, courage and the positive difference we make in the lives of others,” she said.
