Cakaudrove health centres urgently need upgrades amid ongoing service delivery
Korotasere and Saqani facilities continue providing vital care, with renewable energy support, despite infrastructure challenges.

Korotasere and Saqani Health Centres in Cakaudrove face infrastructure and boundary challenges, yet staff continue delivering essential health services with dedication and resilience.
Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Penioni Ravunawa, recently visited the Northern Division to assess the condition of both health centres.
At Korotasere Health Centre, Mr Ravunawa met the medical staff, who have faithfully served the community for over three years.

“Primary health care is the foundation of a healthy population, and we remain committed to ensuring access for even our most remote communities,” Mr Ravunawa said.
The visit highlighted the urgent need for major infrastructure upgrades, particularly expanding the waiting area to accommodate patients more comfortably. Despite these challenges, the facility benefits from renewable solar energy, ensuring continuous service in the remote setting.
At Saqani Health Centre, healthcare staff were praised for their dedication, professionalism, and strong rapport with the local community.
“Universal health coverage means accessible, quality health services for all, regardless of location,” he said.
Challenges at Saqani included redefining the health centre boundaries and improving fencing to enhance safety, security, and future planning.
Mr Ravunawa expressed his gratitude to frontline health workers, acknowledging their resilience, dedication, and vital role in delivering health care in rural and remote areas.
“Vinaka vakalevu (thank you) to our health teams for their unwavering commitment,” he added.
