Outstanding overtime claims for health workers are being vetted and are scheduled to be paid across the first and second pay periods of 2026, the Ministry of Health and Medical Services has assured.

The ministry said it is currently collating and verifying overtime submissions from all cost centres to ensure only accurate and eligible claims are paid. The process follows the completion of the recent Pay 26 inputting cycle.

To date, the ministry has paid out $5.9 million in overtime to established staff and government wage earners for the first five months of the current financial year.

Overtime work remains critical in addressing staff shortages across the health system, particularly during periods of increased demand, the ministry said.

The ministry acknowledged the contribution of healthcare workers and said it recognised the importance of timely and fair compensation for additional hours worked.

It thanked staff for their patience and said it was committed to settling all verified overtime claims and ensuring eligible personnel are paid what they are owed.
