"Having faced eight months of severely restricted mobility before surgery; even the act of sitting up in bed was a formidable challenge for him.
"His road to recovery began with a delicate balance of anxiety and hope as he confronted the first significant milestone: reclaiming the ability to sit unaided.
"As Mr Tautu's physiotherapist, I had the privilege of guiding him and his supportive wife through these early and critical stages of his recovery; PSH head of physiotherapy Sonia Kajol.
"Our initial goal was modest yet significant-encouraging him to sit at the edge of the bed without external assistance," she said.
"Through careful mobilization techniques and consistent positive reinforcement, this milestone was achieved.
"The significance of this moment, both for Mr Tau tu and for our team, was profound, as it reignited within him a sense of hope and determination," Ms Kajol said.
From that pivotal point onward, Mr Tautu embraced his rehabilitation with unwavering commitment.
"Together, we established achievable goals, and his recovery journey was marked by hard work and steadfast dedication," she added.

"As his confidence grew, the intensity of his sessions was gradually increased, reflecting his progress and resilience."
In the weeks that followed, Mr Tautu's rehabilitation progressed steadily.
Initially reliant on a walking frame, he transitioned to using a quadruped, then a walking stick, and eventually; to walking independently.
Each step forward was a testament to both his perseverance and the highly individualized, patient- centred care provided by our rehabilitation team.
The emotional and physical milestones reached throughout Mr Tautu's rehabilitation were deeply significant.
Each day brought visible progress and renewed self-assurance.
The moment Mr Tautu took his first steps unaided was not merely a personal triumph, but a collective achievement for our entire team.
