The Public Rental Board (PRB) have commenced their work at the Lagilagi Housing Estate in Samabula.

PRB general manager Timoci Naleba said residents of Jittu Estate, who have waited over a decade for affordable housing will be able to purchase their new homes this year.

PRB took charge of the Lagilagi Housing project in January after the Cabinet endorsed PRB’s involvement for the project initially led by the People’s Community Network Charitable Trust.

The project, which was spearheaded ten years ago, aimed to provide low-cost housing units to Jittu Estate residents living in informal settlements.

“We have commenced work,” Mr Naleba confirmed.
