Votualevu College head boy Shivesh Nand Sharma was honoured with the overall Dux Gold award last Friday for his dedication, discipline, and exceptional academic commitment.

Sharma began his education at Votualevu Public School, where he excelled academically and received the Dux prize in both Year 7 and Year 8.

He continued his outstanding performance at Votualevu College, being named Level Dux from Year 9 through Year 13, consistently maintaining top academic results throughout his secondary education.

Beyond academics, Sharma has been an active representative of his school, participating in numerous competitions including academic quizzes, public speaking, mathematics competitions, titration events, and the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award programme. He was also recognised as the best science student this year.

Outside of schoolwork, his hobbies include playing the Tabala, chess, swimming, hiking, and solving Rubik’s Cubes.

“I aim to pursue a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Civil Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia, one of the world’s leading universities,” Sharma said.

His hard work, leadership qualities, and consistent excellence have made him a shining example for students across Fiji.
