Fiji’s national e-Transport system is set to take another digital leap next Monday, October 20, with the launch of a new QR Pay feature for Android and iOS users.

The announcement follows an E-Ticketing Steering Committee meeting on October 9, which brought together the Fiji Bus Operators Association and key stakeholders to review the system’s progress.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, MSMEs and Communications Manoa Kamikamica said the system’s continued growth reflected public confidence in Fiji’s digital transformation.

“The success of the e-Transport system is a powerful example of how digital solutions can transform everyday life,” Mr Kamikamica said.

He commended bus operators and partners for their role in improving reliability and passenger experience.

With more than 492,000 registered cards, including 320,000 active monthly users and 128,000 daily users, the e-Transport platform continues to drive cashless travel and digital inclusion.

The mobile app has surpassed 95,000 downloads, linking 65,000 unique cards.

Mr Kamikamica said the QR Pay feature would make travel even more convenient as Fiji moves closer to a fully modernised, transparent public transport system.
