Sailor’s Beach Fiji could be a force to reckon with in the coming months, as it transitions into development plans, under its new management.

With occupancy at 95 per cent 99 per cent capacity every weekend, it is the epicentre of Nadi’s nightlife

For its food and beverage manager, Esther Bua, the move means raising the game to rival the likes of her other favourite hotspot, Coffee Hub.

“We are getting everything new up and running, new rules, new techniques,” she said.

“In the next two months, Sailor’s Beach should be competing with Coffee Hub.”

Humility is everything for Ms Bua. “Humility will take you places,” she said.

She credits her humble beginnings for her determination and continued success.

“I was not raised in a wealthy background,” Ms Bua said.

She enjoys new experiences, learning and imparting knowledge.

“When I see people who want to learn more, and want to be more, I go out of my way to teach them what I know,” Ms Bua said.

“It’s up to us what we want to impart."

“We have to share our knowledge to the younger generation to prepare them for what may come.”

A vasu of Raralevu, Tailevu, she spent her formative years in Nadi, before she travelled to spend six and half years in Dubai – a move that furthered her career in tourism and hospitality.

Her love for making new acquaintances, and socialising, places her in the best profession - tourism.

Ms Bua said her passion for the tourism sector has taken her places.

“Tourism took me to countries I never dreamed I’d see,” she said.

“Tourism has taught me a lot.
