The Raiwaqa TotalEnergies service station has been fully renovated at a cost of between $1.5 million and $2 million, significantly improving safety standards and expanding customer services, according to TotalEnergies Marketing managing director and chief executive Bhavana Samel.

Ms Samel said the project involved a complete rebuild of the station’s technical systems, including fuel tanks, pipelines, pumps, wiring and safety infrastructure, as the previous facility had become outdated and unable to meet growing community needs.

“This renovation was not just about what customers see. We redid the entire site from the ground up to strengthen safety and service quality,” she said.

The upgraded station now features a modern retail shop, food and beverage services, a car wash and a vehicle servicing bay, creating a one-stop service centre for motorists.

Ms Samel said the project was completed in a record three to three-and-a-half months, compared with the usual six to nine months for similar renovations.

“This shows that we can deliver high-quality projects efficiently while maintaining global standards,” she said.

The Raiwaqa service station is the third to be upgraded under TotalEnergies’ nationwide refresh programme, part of a wider regional and global initiative focused on quality rather than quantity.

The programme is being rolled out across the Pacific and Asia, bringing international service station standards to local communities. Located along one of Fiji’s busiest roads, the renovated station is expected to benefit surrounding areas by offering convenient services at accessible prices.

“We want the community to enjoy quality services without premium pricing — from meals and refreshments to vehicle care — all in one place,” Ms Samel said.

The project highlights TotalEnergies’ continued investment in safer, modern and community-focused service stations across Fiji.
