Mcdonald’s recognize Bakels Fiji as ‘Supplier of the Year’

Bakels Fiji has been awarded the ‘Mcdonald’s Fiji Supplier of the Year’, recognizing its contribution towards the success of the company.

The award was received by Bakels Fiji Sales and Technical Manager, Wade Knowles, who shared the valuable business relationship with McDonalds’ Fiji.

“The collaboration with McDonald's has been 40 years, so since McDonald's has been operating in Fiji, Bakels Fiji has been there, since the outset,” Mr Knowles said.

He shared this during McDonald’s Fiji supplier appreciation night, where all suppliers were acknowledged and commended for their contribution to economic growth.

Mr Knowles said Bakels Fiji has been supplying muffins, cookies, croissants and other products to McDonald’s Fiji branches across the country.

He said there are new products in the pipeline that Bakels Fiji would introduce.

“We're supplying some of the commodities behind the scenes as well, but we've also introduced donuts, cheesecakes, and there's a lot more new things that are in the pipeline.

“It's going to be great for McDonald's Fiji and great for Bakels Fiji.”

Mcdonald’s Fiji Managing Director, Marc McElrath, thanked the suppliers for their dedication, collaboration and for being an essential part of McDonald's Fiji's journey.

“Our suppliers are more than just business connections - you are the backbone that keeps our operations strong, reliable, and innovative,” Mr McElrath said.

“Every product delivered, every deadline met, and every challenge overcome together has helped us grow and succeed.

“We deeply value your commitment, your quality, and the trust you place in us. It's because of you that we can serve our customers with confidence and pride.”

Operations Manager, Nazlan Jaleel shared similar sentiments, noting supplier’s important role in Mcdonald’s Fiji service and operations.

“The quality, reliability, and innovation demonstrated by all our suppliers - both local and international - allow us to consistently meet global McDonald's standards while championing local industry wherever possible.”
