Team West dominates annual tournament

The David Aitcheson cap­tained- Team West took out Team East in the Annual East versus West Championship 2025 at the Suva Bowling Club over the weekend.

Team West defeated East by 2.5 sets to 0.5 in the two-day event. Team West won seven games and lost only three games in total.

Team West men's side had the services of Bobby Prasad, Rajnesh Raju, Kushal Pillay, Rick Eyre, Filipe Delai, Zinal Mohammed, Raviteshwar Singh, Rajnesh Lal, M unesh Kumar, Shivam Padiyachi, Rohil Chand, and Amitesh Chand.

Team manager Sanjeet Sen said this marked Team West dominance for the last two decades.

"Team West was made-up of play­ers from Lautoka and Nadi. It was a force to be reckoned with. It will be an uphill battle for Team East to defy all odds. We show that it is more competitive to play in the west," he said.

"The women's team did well but was short-lived as they were un­lucky over the last three years. We hope the team will bounce back next year."

Sen thanked their consortium sponsor, Mali Pest Control, Islands Electrical, Portion Pak, Office Rent­als N Supplies, and KMD.

Team East Michael Fong said this was the last tournament of the year and it was a great outing.
