Blue-Light brings early Christmas cheer to Navaga kids
Police team delivers gifts, food, and sports gear in surprise village visit with community partners.

Apart from donating the village signboard, the Fiji Police Blue-Light team also surprised the children of Navaga Village in the interior of Ba with early Christmas gifts.
The team and other stakeholders made a surprise visit to the village on Tuesday.
Divisional manager Community Policing West (DMCP/W) Superintendent of Police (SP) Lepani Liga said through their Blue Light Programme in partnership with New Zealand Blue Light police, they had a programme to help youths in communities.

He said the initial plan was to visit the village and hand-over a signboard, but decided to reach out to other stakeholders in collaborating to make a visit to the village.
“Our team handed over the village signboard with its village bylaws sponsored by Bethel Electrical Services Limited,” SP Liga said.
He said part of the team was the Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child members who handed over early Christmas gift boxes to the children of Navaga Village.
“Basic food items were also distributed among the villagers of Navaga.”

He said the food items were donated by Punjas Group as they celebrated their 90 years of service.
“Punjas continues to lead the way by putting the needs of the people and community first. “Our New Zealand police counterparts were part of the visit where they handedover rugby balls donated by Blue Light New Zealand for the members of Veilomani Youth Club in Navaga.
“This marked the second phase of their Sports Dash programme along with the Western Division Blue Light Team.”
SP Liga said the early Christmas Gifts had not only brought smiles to the children, but other donations provided they believed would make a greater impact on the youths.
