Law Student Shines In An Orphanage

University of Fiji Law student, Payas Attalla, aims to shine among the children of St Minas Children’s Home in Nadi.
Being the eldest, and the first child to be brought into the Home in 2013, the 24-year-old dreams of becoming a lawyer.
The unfolding of her dream was through the mentoring of Father Mark Attalla and Miriam Attalla, who are both directors of the Home.
The third year student regarded them as her adopted parents.
“My mother died at a young age, and no one looked after me. I was the first child to be brought to the home and mother and father Attalla have been my adopted parents since then,” she said.
“Here at the Home, I was encouraged by my adopted parents, that I can achieve that profession.”
“They also encouraged me to strive towards a better education and fulfill my dreams to inspire other children in the Home.”
She said, she was grateful that she could be an inspiration to the disadvantaged children and despite what they go through in life, there is always hope for a better future.
