Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Police 7s team manager, Jaoji Besetimoala said they would continue to give back to the community.

This was after he handed over $5000 to the Fiji Cancer Society.

This is simply about saving lives and giving back to the community. We play out there and the prize money we win is now going back to help those in need

Jaoji Besetimoala

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Besetimoala said the amount donated was from the prize money the Police side won from the Fiji Bitter Labasa 7s tournament.

The Livai Ikanikoda captained- side defeated BLK Lavidi Brothers 12–10 in the Cup final.

Besetimoala said the team presented their trophies and prize money to the Commissioner of Police earlier in the week, where they were advised to donate it the Fiji Cancer Society.

He added that the donation is a way to bring hope to those who are fighting this deadly disease.

“From the Commissioner’s sentiment, even a small donation can bring hope to a cancer patient, who may be silently suffering and unable to afford financial support

“This gesture of goodwill reflects our belief that, in our own small way, we can reach someone who really needs help,” Besetimoala said.

He said the Police 7s team is committed to keep supporting the public.

“This is simply about saving lives and giving back to the community. We play out there and the prize money we win is now going back to help those in need,” he said.

He added that the Fiji Police Force remains committed to strengthening its partnership with communities and ex-tending its assistance wherever possible.
