Last week, the Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ratu Isikeli Tuiwailevu, informed Parliament that preparations are well in hand for national celebrations in the last week of May to commemorate the outstanding contributions of the late Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna to the economic and social progress of Fiji.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and his Peoples Coalition Government are to be warmly congratulated for their decision to restore Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna Day as a national public holiday.

This is so that we can remember and acknowledge his immense pioneering contribution to land management reform in Fiji for the benefit of both the iTaukei landowners and all citizens of Fiji.
