11, Including Juveniles, Appear Before Navua Magistrate

Eleven people, including six juveniles, appeared before Magistrate Chaitanya Lakshman at the Navua Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with failing to comply with lawful order.

Eleven people, including six juveniles, appeared before Magistrate Chaitanya Lakshman at the Navua Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with failing to comply with lawful order.

They pleaded guilty to the offence, and sought the court’s forgiveness.

Magistrate Lakshman ordered Kosi Matakibau, 50, Iliesa Mainiudua, 28, Harold Mainiudua, 23, and Waisake Baulo, 20, to carry out 15 hours community work at the Navua Police Station, starting today until Thursday.

Their case will be recalled on Friday.

The juveniles were bound over for 12 months, and ordered not to re-offend.

In a separate case, on April 1, 2020, Rusi Nadolo, 29, was found walking along Naitata, Navua, at 10pm.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Luke Qerewaqa informed the court that a team of officers approached Nadolo and arrested him.

Nadolo, also a first offender, pleaded guilty, and sought the court’s forgiveness. He was fined $400.

The case will be recalled on June 16.
