Accused dangerous driver changes lawyer before plea
Magistrate orders confirmation of change of solicitors after switch to Crown Law.

A woman accused of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm has changed her legal representation in the Suva Magistrates Court.
Durga Lal, who is charged in relation to a December 2025 crash on Laucala Bay Road that seriously injured a motorcyclist, has switched from Benjamin Ram Lawyers to Crown Law.
A lawyer appeared on instructions from Crown Law and requested 14 days to advise their client. Lal also sought to update her residential address with the court.

Magistrate Charles Ratakele directed that confirmation of the change of solicitors be filed.
The matter has been adjourned to March 11 for plea.
