Accused pleads Guilty To Defilement Of 13 Year Old Girl
It is alleged that the accused, on August 23, 2018, at Nausori, had unlawful carnal knowledge with the complainant, a young person of the age of 13 years and two months.

A 19-year-old man from Nausori has willingly pleaded guilty to an amended charge of defilement.
The accused was initially charged with one count of rape.
However, State prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Sheenal Swastika, filed an amended charge yesterday.

The charge was amended from rape to defilement of a young person between 13 years and 16 years of age.
It is alleged that the accused, on August 23, 2018, at Nausori, had unlawful carnal knowledge with the complainant, a young person of the age of 13 years and two months.
The accused appeared before Judge Justice Vinsent Perera at the High Court in Suva.
The matter was adjourned for sentencing submission and mitigation.
Bail for the accused was also extended.
