Alipate Matadigo meth case adjourned to next week
The Suva Magistrates Court has adjourned the case of Alipate Matadigo, charged with transporting 4.7kg of methamphetamine, to January 19 pending disclosure of interview records.

The Suva Magistrates Court has adjourned the case of Alipate Matadigo, who is charged with unlawfully transporting 4.7 kilograms of methamphetamine, to January 19.
Matadigo appeared before Chief Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavolavola today, represented by Legal Aid Commission lawyer Lanieta Gonewai.
The court heard that the defence had requested a transcript of Matadigo’s record of interview to prepare its case.

State prosecutor Unal Lal told the court that both the transcript and the video recording would be provided as part of the consolidated disclosure documents.
Chief Magistrate Waqaivolavolavola ordered the prosecution to serve the defence with the transcript and video recording by January 19, when the matter will be called again.
Matadigo remains remanded in custody.
His case is linked to three other matters involving charges of unlawful importation and possession of the same quantity of methamphetamine allegedly brought in from the United States.
The other accused are Eroni Bati, Ratu Lote Lewaivuna and suspended police officer Sevuloni Lubi.
