The Suva Magistrate Court has denied the bail plea of the 40-year-old TikToker, Ana Masere this afternoon.

Masere was charged for allegedly posting a video on her TikTok and making derogatory comments about another woman.

It was alleged that the victim had attempted to commit suicide as a result of Masere's action.

She is facing two counts of Causing Harm by Posting Electronic Communication under the Online Safety Act and two counts of Insulting or Annoying any Person under the Crime.

Chief Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola ruled in favor of the Prosecution citing the matter was of Public interest and that in the interest of justice, bailing Masere would risk the likelihood of her continuous postings and interference of the victim and other state witnesses.

The matter has been adjourned to October where Masere will appear again at the Nadi Magistrates Court.
