Civil High Court Overrules Lawyer’s Defamation Objections
Prime Minister and Attorney-General’s lawyers sought for 21 days to file supplementary affidavits due to Ravindra-Singh’s continued defiance of the High Court orders.

The Civil High Court in Suva has overruled former Fiji Labour Party candidate and Parliamentary leader Aman Ravindra-Singh’s preliminary objections in relation to the committal proceedings.
The lawyers for Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Devanesh Sharma and Gul Fatima from R Patel Lawyers, filed a committal proceeding against Ravindra-Singh for failing to comply with the orders made by the Civil High Court of Suva.
Ravindra-Singh was ordered by Justice Lyone Seneviratne in his Judgement to pay $120,000 in damages to Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum for defamatory claims he had made on social media.
