Court Remands Colo-I-Suva Murder Accused

A 21-year-old man charged with one count of murder has been remanded in custody.
Sailosi Naivalurua appeared before Magistrate Sufia Hamza at the Nasinu Magistrates Court yesterday.
Magistrate Hamza transferred the matter to the High Court in Suva.

It is alleged the accused had struck a 40-year-old victim with a cane knife several times before fleeing the scene.
The victim had sustained injuries after he was allegedly attacked by the accused following a heated argument on April 21.
The victim succumbed to his injuries on April 23 at the Oceania Hospital in Suva.
Naivalurua had waived his right to legal counsel and told the court he received full disclosures.
The case has been adjourned to May 8.
