Deceased’s Father Reads Out Lusaka’s Message Saying: 'I Win. You Lose'

The father of the deceased, Jennifer Anne Downes, yesterday testified that he saw his daughter’s lifeless body from a Facebook messenger picture sent to him by Kiala Lusaka.
Christopher Downes yesterday continued his testimony against Lusaka who is on trial for allegedly killing his wife on July 23, 2019, at Service Street, Suva.
Mr Downes alleged that Lusaka had sent him various messages on Facebook messenger which read:

Along with these abusive messages, photos of Lusaka and the children were also sent to Mr Downes.

He told the court that she appeared lifeless and immediately called the Fiji Police Force for assistance.
He alleged that the Police were not able to attend to the house immediately.
Mr Downes told the court that he then contacted the Australian Federal Police but was told that they could not do anything.
He then contacted his deceased’s daughter’s friend, a Ginna Jones, who was in Nadi who contacted the United Nations Department for Safety and Security (UNDSS).
Mr Downes said he was then called by the Department of Foreign Affairs in Canberra who informed him that his daughter had died.
He told the court that the call was made to him at about 4pm Australian time and immediately he made arrangements to travel to Fiji.
The trial continues on Monday and Lusaka has been further remanded in custody by the High Court.
