Environment Officers Given Approval To Testify Against Freesoul

The Magistrates Court in Suva has refused the application made by Freesoul Real Estate Development (Fiji) PTE Limited lawyer seeking to exclude reports prepared by the Environment officers.
Freesoul lawyer David Toganivalu had also made the application to exclude the Environment officers from giving evidence during trial because they were not environment inspectors.
Magistrate Seini Puamau allowed the state to call environment officers as witnesses and also use the reports made by them.

The matter has been adjourned for trial from November 18.
Freesoul Real Estate Development (Fiji) PTE Limited is charged by the Director of Public Prosecutions with one count each of undertaking unauthorised developments and of failure to comply with a prohibition notice.
