Lui Vuiberata appeared before the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon after allegedly breaching his bail conditions.

Vuiberata was produced before Magistrate Josaia Waqaivonovono and charged with three counts of breaching bail, contrary to the Bail Act 2002.

The court heard that Vuiberata had earlier been granted bail under strict conditions. However, the prosecution told the court he failed to comply with those orders.

According to the charges, between 30 October 2025 and 31 January 2026, Vuiberata allegedly:

  1. Failed to surrender his passport to the authorities as ordered by the court.
  2. Failed to deactivate his TikTok account, identified as “X Con,” despite clear instructions not to use or post on any social media platforms.
  3. Continued to engage in social media activity, which was strictly prohibited under his bail conditions.

The charges fall under Sections 25(1)(b) and 26(1) of the Bail Act 2002, which relate to breaches of bail conditions imposed by the court.

Vuiberata told the court he wished to represent himself.

Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions prosecutor Tevita Naimila told the court the alleged breaches were serious and demonstrated a failure to respect court orders.

Prosecutor Naimila also objected to bail, informing the court that Vuiberata has another ongoing case in Valelevu.

The matter was adjourned to February 16.
