The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) has been granted more time to serve extradition papers on suspended Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde.

Pryde, who is now in New Zealand, is required to return to Fiji to face corruption-related charges.

The matter was called before Suva Magistrate Yogesh Prasad yesterday.

Senior FICAC prosecutor Setefano Komaibaba told the court that attempts to serve the documents had not been completed.

FICAC applied for an extension to continue efforts to serve the extradition papers.

Magistrate Prasad granted the extension but noted that the documents had remained unserved since the matter was first called on August 6, 2025.

Pryde faces five charges, including two counts of abuse of office, two counts of causing a loss, and one count of obtaining a financial advantage.

The matter has been adjourned to July 22.
