Fijian detained for sexual assault charges

A Fijian man , 42, has found himself at the mercy of the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility in Santa Rosa at the United States of America after sexually assaulting a woman.
Pene Cere, who was working as a security guard, was reported to have attempted to barge into the woman’s vehicle while she was sleeping, threatening to report her to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement if she didn’t open the door.
Cere faces charges of assault with attempt to commit rape per 220(a)(1) PC, and threatening arrest or deportation to commit sexual assault per 289(g) PC.

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, Cere was a night-shift security guard who has worked in many places around Santa Rosa.
The victim in this case was reluctant to file a complaint, however with the support from family members, she finally came through prompting the investigation against him.
SRPD confirmed locating Cere, after a two-day investigation and extensive search and surveillance operation.
